Kensington Ridge Primary School
Kensington Ridge Primary School a.k.a KRPS is another of the DotUnity beneficiaries for 2013. Mint has already supported this school by participating in a number of initiatives since our involvement with the school from 2011.
Unfortunately, the school suffered a major loss earlier this year when the school was broken into and multiple computers from their office and learning centre were stolen. Mint is in the process of helping the school to replace their much needed computers, and so far, with the help of Imperial-Toyota, have
donated 4 PC's to the school.
26th April 2013 Hands On Initiative
On Friday 26th April one of the Mint Teams spent the morning at KRPS sorting our the books in the teachers library. This included sorting of old book,
documenting them in spreadsheets and repacking the shelves with current (books still in use) books.
In addition to this, Mint's IT guru's were hard at work setting up the first of the replacement PC's donated
by Imperial-Toyota. Our heartfelt thanks to Imperial-Toyota for assisting Mint DotUnity with our drive to source PC's for
the schoolas we attempt to replace all of the PC's which were stolen from the school earlier this year.
22nd February 2013 Hands On Initiative
Due to the theft of the PC's at KPRS early in 2013, much needed administration support was required as part of our first hands-on initiative for the year.
A team of dedicated Mint volunteers assisted by filing and arranging leaner files and other general administration.
Already Done: Donations of text books and “already read” books for Grade R class, Intercoms & gate for main entrance , Soccer nets, hotdogs and face painting at school’s fun day, Study Skills program sponsorship for learners.
On-going committment
Feeding Scheme – Monthly contribution towards feeding scheme given per month: This initiative involved giving a meal/sandwich to +-30 children daily. Funds have been provisioned for stair tape to be installed onto cement stairs for the learners safety.
